Craig Nakamoto and Paul Martzoukos did battle at 620 12th Avenue SW, Calgary, AB.

Preliminary occupation of provinces is spread out, but as troops are deployed a clear line is drawn across the board just west of the dreaded province of Omi; which a hapless Nakamoto provincial army has somehow occupied. Nakamoto attempts to occupy the northern island routes and the east, while the Martzoukos red tide invades the west and southern sea route.

For 3 rounds the Nakamoto Daiymo are hard-pressed to avoid annihilation at the hands of the carefully maneuvered Martzoukos warriors. The Nakamoto troupes' low morale is exposed by their poor performance in the field. The infamous Nakamoto gunners spent more time lighting fuses than firing their guns.

At the beginning of the fourth round, Martzoukos is poised to strike from all angles. Nakamoto attempts to execute the "best defense is a good offense'. With 4 koku he hires the Ninja and disables Martzoukos' fiercest army. After some preliminary moves Nakamoto attacks the dread army from three sides and makes the mistake of staging the campaign from Omi.

Martzoukos crushes both attacking Daimyo and sustains almost no losses to his armies (through the careful use of ronin).

After about 5 hours the game is called and Martzoukos is victorious.

Craig Nakamoto, Jonathan Rose, Jeff Carefoot, Don Grant, and Paul Martzoukos did battle at 211 17th Ave SW, Calgary, AB.

Nakamoto takes Carefoot castle in round 1, in round 2 Carefoot attacks same castle and Nakamoto daimyo (with ronin) with two daimyos and is repelled, subsequently Nakamoto crushes one of Carefoot's weakened daimyos.

Grant holes up in Kyeshu, Martzoukos takes the south, Nakamoto the west, Carefoot holds the north east and Rose struggles to keep land in the middle east.

In round 3 Grant successfully repels Martzoukos naval attack against castle, Martzoukos loses 10 ronin during preliminary attack and turns tail.

Possible aliances seem to be Nakamoto-Martzoukos in the west and Rose-Grant in the east.

In round 3, 4, and 5 Rose, Carefoot, and Nakamoto fight on all bounds. Martzoukos and Grant continue to grow their armies and watch.

Round 6 brought us an amazing replay of the round three naval attack in reverse seeing Martzoukos with 9 kills on the preliminary attack against Grant and once again a retreat. Rose attacked Carefoot with two daimyos and failed, Carefoot retaliated and crushed one of Rose's daimyo.

In round 7 Rose killed Carefoot's last daimyo and claimed all his lands. With Rose weakened, Nakamoto managed to start a come-back. Martzoukos finally crushed Grant's second daimyo and positioned to take over Japan.

At 3:45am after 8hr 45min the game was called, Martzoukos had 29 provinces and was clearly going to get 30 before anyone else could regroup. Martzoukos was victorious.
